There are no compulsory vaccinations for visitors to Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, unless you are arriving from a country where yellow fever is present.

But we strongly advise you get vaccinated against typhoid, cholera, hepatitis A & B, tetanus and polio before traveling. Malaria is present in parts of Southeast Asia and you should consult your doctor for advice before traveling.

You are traveling overseas and especially in developing countries. Health care is not always safe in the region especially in remote area. However, in Thailand you can find easily a good hospital and good health center in the main town.

In Cambodia, in Vietnam, SOS International are present and offers good services. In Laos, you have a good access to the thai health system and you have two private clinic own by foreigners.

Dental clearance: it could be a good idea to visit your dentist before leaving.

Medical Treatment: if you have a regular medical treatment, before leaving it is recommended to discuss with your doctor. Please do not forget to bring your own medicine because it is not sure that you could find them in the region and bring your prescription with the name of your medicine and the structural formula. The prescription can as well be a proof that you legally bought your medicine even if it could be a forbidden medecine at your new destination.

Plan your vaccination in advance because it could take more than 6 weeks to receive all your treatment and some needs boosters that can not be compatible with other.

Food and water: keep in mind to always clean your fruits and vegetable with purified water or to peel them. Avoid not well cooked cuisine. Bottled water is safe for Westerner and easy to find in most of places and wash your hand before eating.

Sun: Southeast Asia is sunny all year around, it is warmly recommended to protect you against the sun to avoid heat stroke and sunstroke, to get sunburned. Sunscreen use is pertinent as well as to wear a hat and to protect your skin.

Eye trouble: it could be the result of dust, exhaust fumes. Do not wash with napkins and wash your hand before to clean your face. You may use eyes drops.

Mycosis: to avoid it, it is advised to wear ample clothes done with natural material (for underwears, cotton is the best). When you wash them, dry them correctly. For your thongs, keep them in the bathroom. To treat your mycosis, you may use a fungicide.
